It's official! Confirmed by creator/producer Stephen Lancaster and various members of his old crew, monsterVisionTV will be returning this year with a 90 minute special that is currently under tight wraps.

Not much else has been said. The official word landed today on Lancaster's Facebook page and The Shadow Initiative's Facebook page (which is monsterVisionTV's official social networking home).

Rumors have circulated for years concerning a reunion of the original cast and maybe this is what we are seeing presently. Although, no official announcement has been made on who is returning and who is not. The show ended abruptly in 2012 with a lost episode that recently aired on Lancaster's new radio show.

The previous 6 seasons are extremely difficult to find, although traces of the lost series can be found on the official Facebook page.

Lancaster launched a new radio show called International Paranormal Radio at the beginning of 2016 and the program has already caught quite the buzz. He also has a new book hitting the shelves worldwide in August of this year.

Lancaster went into retirement in 2013 and fell completely off the paranormal grid.

In November of 2014, Lancaster and P.I.T. Co-Founder Ryan Lick released a teaser for what appeared to be a monsterVisionTV reboot. However, Lancaster confirmed that it was something else entirely shortly after.

"People have been asking for a monsterVisionTV return for years. At that time (in 2014), the real deal just wasn't in the cards. What Ryan and I were doing fell underneath the monsterVisionTV umbrella, but was something different entirely. It was not the P.I.T. Crew. It was us as independent investigators throwing something out to the old fans for nostalgic purposes. A real MVTV return would involve so much more and certainly Allen Bess," Lancaster said.

But now he seems to be firing up the engines of all things monsterVisionTV. When asked about the 2016 announcement, Lancaster confirmed the real deal.

"This is it. This is the real deal. This is monsterVisionTV returning. We are filming a 90 minute return episode and what will follow after that has yet to be determined," said Lancaster.

Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
